Category: Access to employment and entrepreneurship for women

The Women’s Impact Montréal Collective Fund (WIM Fund) at FGM offers financial support to local community organizations that are directly serving Greater Montréal women and girls in order to improve their life circumstances. Persons identifying as immigrant, Black, racialized or Indigenous women are particularly vulnerable, especially those living in poverty or social isolation. Women identifying as members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, as well as those who live with (physical or intellectual) functional limitations or who are neurodivergent, are also more at risk of being discriminated against. FGM has therefore given priority to organizations and projects targeting one or more of those groups.

L’Étoile de Pacho : a mutual aid network for parents of severely disabled children

L’Étoile de Pacho’s mission is help parents of severely disabled children flourish, by providing services and tools to support them in adapting to their circumstances and enhancing their power to act, thereby also fostering social inclusion. Parents are paired with intervenors who work with them in the home, the vast majority of whom are themselves parents of disabled children. This allows them to share their experience. L’Étoile de Pacho’s employees benefit from working conditions that enhance their well-being and that of their children, in particular through flexible hours and unlimited holidays. The goal is to enable parents with disabled children to better access the services that are vital to them, but also to reduce financial insecurity and bolster their mental health.
