In 2021, the Foundation of Greater Montr\u00e9al launched the Women\u2019s Impact Montr\u00e9al Collective Fund<\/a>\u00a0(WIM), in collaboration with a group of women philanthropists who take to heart the well-being of women and girls in Greater Montreal.<\/p>\n

Two years later, thanks to the commitment of a 100 or so members and the contributions of many donors, the Fund has been able to distribute more than $500,000 to organizations that work directly with women and girls. These organizations strive to prevent and combat violence against women and girls; improve their mental health; enhance their access to employment and entrepreneurial opportunities; and defend their rights.<\/p>\n

But the job is far from done! The Fund continues to mobilize, in order to be able to offer even more support to women and girls.<\/p>\n

A get-together with Dress for Success<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The WIM fund\u2019s second anniversary was the perfect occasion for members to get together, and interact with recipient organizations, with a view to learning more about the issues that impact women and girls in Greater Montreal.<\/p>\n

On June 5, WIM members were the guests of Dress for Success<\/a> Montreal, which aims to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing them with professional attire, support and tools for development.<\/p>\n

\u00a0A new Chair for the Advisory Committee<\/strong><\/h5>\n

On June 5, the members also got the chance to meet the new Chair of the Fund\u2019s Advisory Committee. Having played a key role in the WIM Fund\u2019s launch, Deborah Shannon Trudeau passed the torch to Isabelle M\u00e9nard, Senior Vice President Quebec & Atlantic Commercial Banking District and Commercial National Account (CNA) Quebec, who has agreed to chair the Committee and help the Fund grow and increase its impact on the ground.<\/p>\n
